About Us

Born and raised in Austria, already as a child Verena's dream was that one day she would own her own guesthouse. After completing her studies "health management in tourism" she worked in various hotels in England, Switzerland, Germany, Austria and on cruise ships. Over the years she always kept keen on learning new skills and is nowadays not only a passionate host, but also a yoga instructor, Thai massage practitioner, beautician and holistic life coach.

Native Maltese Omar followed his dream in working at sea from young age. After several years of collecting experience, he reached his goal and became Captain on a Cruise Ship. Besides his passion about his nautical duties, he ever since enjoyed the pleasure of hosting guests of different nationalities.

After meeting each other onboard a cruise ship back in 2011, the couple lived in Austria for ten years where in 2016 their daughter Olivia Josephine was born. Eventually their way lead them southwards back to Omar's "homeport" Malta and they decided to take on the adventure of hosting guests together in their amazing house of character, Chapel 5.

With their backgrounds and their warm and welcoming personalities, Verena and Omar both know what it takes to provide a special holiday.
